Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in the United States on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. It straddles a thickly forested, stunningly bio-diverse collection of mountains, valleys, and rivers.

Elevations range from 875 feet to 6,643 feet at Clingmans Dome (the highest point in the park). This varied elevation supports the same ecosystems you’d find traveling all the way from Georgia to Maine, all encompassed within the park. Wildlife is varied and abundant throughout the park, from black bears and elk to salamanders and pileated woodpeckers.
The national park is open all day, every day of the year, though some facilities and roads do shut down in winter.
